The EU Nature Restoration Law (NRL) is a generational opportunity to reverse ecosystem degradation and restore nature at scale. The law now requires Member States to develop and adopt National Restoration Plans (NRPs) detailing how they will achieve the law’s targets and obligations. By designing and implementing an ambitious Nature Restoration Plan Ireland can empower communities to restore threatened habitats and species, helping nature to protect us all from climate breakdown, while delivering immense health and economic benefits now and into the future. The Environmental Pillar is actively engaged in ensuring that this opportunity is realised on land and at sea, in an inclusive manner that empowers local communities, land owners, farmers, fishers and foresters.
Nature restoration takes off: mid-term assessment of National Restoration Plans
